The Cragmont Tournament

The Cragmont tournament at Happy Valley, Wilson, NC, has been in existence for over 30 years. Many golfers have competed in this 4-man super ball tournament to help Cragmont Assembly in Black Mountain, NC. This year The Cragmont tournament makes a second stop at the Ayden Country Club in Ayden, NC. Every year, children from across North Carolina, travel to the beautiful NC Mountains for a week of Christian fun and fellowship. Most seasons the camp has over 1,000 children in one camping season.

Our Accomodations include the following:

  • Main building is all private rooms with two double beds upstairs and single beds downstairs (25 rooms).
  • Lodge is all private rooms with one queen and two singles in each room (10 rooms).
  • Motel is all private rooms with two double beds in each room (8 rooms).
  • Dorms are bunk style bedding.
  • Hollifield House (H.H.) has three bedrooms and two baths.
    Back bedroom has 1 double bed, center bedroom has 2 twins beds, and the front bedroom has a king.
  • All of our buildings now have air conditioning and heat.

Directions to Cragmont

Coming from the east on I-40 take first Black Mountain exit – exit 65.  This puts you on highway 70 going west.  Go all the way through the town of Black Mountain.   After you pass Ingle’s Warehouse (white looking building on left – cement) turn right at the traffic light (distance from exit 65 to this road is approximately 3.4 miles {if you cross the railroad tracks you have gone too far}.  Go to traffic light and go straight across intersection for approximately 1.3 miles.  Cragmont will be on the right, big brown wooden building.

 

Coming from the west on 1-40 take Swannanoa exit – exit 59.  At the off ramp traffic light turn left and go straight to traffic lift.  At the traffic light turn right and go straight through the next set of traffic lights for approximately 2.4 miles.  At the next traffic light, just past the railroad tracks, turn left.  (These railroad tracks are the only track you will cross on Hwy 70.)  Go to the traffic light and go straight across intersection for approximately 1.3 miles.  Cragmont will be on the right, big brown wooden building.
